The Half Moon, an exact scale replica of Henry Hudson's ship which he sailed up the Hudson River in 1609, sits near the Port of Albany. I would have liked to have gone on a tour of the ship but I was busy that Saturday...obligations you know....I can't imagine being recruited in 1609, to cross thousands of miles of ocean in a ship like this which, when you get close to it, was quite small. It was a beauty of a ship though and I would have liked to see it under sail.
I was not able to go see her when she was down here - you are so right - those early ships were sooo crowded! One of the Jamestown ships was barely the length of a school bus - imagine taking that across the Atlantic (not comfy going across town!). How ever did you manage to have no people in the way? Well done!

Thank you, I was actually lucky because she wasn't officially open for tours, that was going to be the next day when I couldn't be there. I would have liked to get a tour...meh the next time she comes around...

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
